This Tofu Noodles Broccoli Pasta Recipe is one that my mother made all the time when I was growing up, and I’ve continued to make it for my family. It’s easy to make and requires minimal ingredients, and kids love it, too!
This recipe is great because it’s super adaptable. You can add extra veggies if you like and control the seasonings yourself. Leftovers also heat up great for lunches.
Why Your Body Will Love This Easy Pasta Dish
- Protein Power – Tofu is amazing because it’s super versatile, works well in myriad seasons, sauces, and dressings, and is a great meat alternative because it’s a complete protein. This makes our muscles happy and our bellies satisfied.
- Immune System Support – Broccoli contains a good amount of Vitamin A, which helps the body fight infections and keeps the immune system healthy. It also contains many antioxidants that further support the immune system.
- Heart Health – The fiber in broccoli helps us maintain healthy blood sugar and cholesterol levels. (It’s also great for the digestive system.)
Tofu Broccoli Pasta Recipe Ingredients
- Tofu – For this recipe, you will want to use extra-firm tofu. It’s important to pat the tofu dry. I have to admit, I don’t always press my tofu, but I do make sure it’s extra dry on the outside. My favorite tofu is the super-firm kind that comes pre-pressed at Sprouts and Trader Joe’s.
- Pasta – You can use any kind of pasta you like for this recipe. I usually use something bite-sized so my kids don’t have a problem eating it. Gluten-free pasta works great in this recipe.
- Broccoli – I always prefer fresh broccoli over frozen, but either will work here. You can also add in peas or other vegetables you like.
- Seasonings – I season my broccoli pasta with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, dried Italian seasonings, and nutritional yeast.
How To Make This Easy Pasta Dish
There are only a few steps to this recipe, and they’re all really easy!
-
- Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil. Add your pasta, stir, and cook for about 5 minutes. Add in your broccoli and cook until pasta is finished cooking, 5-7 more minutes. Drain and put back into the pot.
- Prepare the tofu while the pasta is cooking. Pat the tofu dry and press if desired. I like to buy pre-pressed tofu because it cuts down on prep time. Cut the tofu into bite-size pieces. Heat a large pan over medium heat and add 2 teaspoons olive oil, cubed tofu, tamari, and garlic powder. Stir and let cook until the tofu has browned, about 10 minutes.
- Add the tofu to the pasta and broccoli along with the remaining 2 Tablespoons of olive oil, nutritional yeast, granulated garlic, dried herbs, salt, and pepper. Taste and add more salt and pepper if needed. Enjoy!
A Kid-Friendly Vegetarian Dinner Recipe
I love this Tofu Broccoli Pasta because it’s made with ingredients I usually have on hand, and it’s an easy, healthy dinner that my kids love! My 4-year-old will even request this dinner by name 🙂
I feel good about giving them their plant-based protein and vegetable servings through this meal. Both of my kids have grown up loving broccoli, but if yours don’t like broccoli, you can easily substitute their preferred vegetable.

This has so much college dorm energy, which is a compliment. Sometimes, you just don’t want to chop 10 veggies to get something delicious and comforting. To be extra lazy, I used steam in the bag broccoli. Again, I hope this doesn’t come off as insulting. It’s easy, quick, and good!
I’m glad you enjoyed this recipe and found it so easy to make!
Love this recipe. But I don’t fancy Tofu so I’ll sub mushrooms..and shells for elbows
Sounds perfect! I hope you enjoy it, Patricia!
I am in the process of making this and see that the recipe ingredients include granulated garlic however in the method it uses garlic powder with the tofu which isn’t listed in the ingredients. Am I missing something?
Hi Jo, granulated garlic and garlic powder can be used interchangeably in the recipe! Sorry for the confusion!
Swapped the pasta for onions and instead of tofu I used Cheerios and it was terrible!!!!!
Kidding, I followed your directions and it was delicious! Thanks for sharing.
omg hahahaha!! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Absolutely delicious!! I thought my 9yo would only eat the noodles.. and he did the exact opposite! No tofu or broccoli to be found. My 13yo loved it as well! So happy to give them these healthy foods.. you are so awesome!
That’s so nice to hear! Both my 4 year old and 1 year old absolutely love this meal!
