This Homemade Peanut Sauce is so flavorful! It takes just about 10 minutes to make and goes great on salads and stir-fries.
I’ve been attempting to make my own peanut sauce foreverrrrrr. I love peanut sauce, but I feel like all the store-bought peanut sauce is way too spicy for me. So, I’ve been trying to make my own for years, and it’s never been quite right. Until now! This really is the BEST Homemade Peanut Sauce! I could eat it with a spoon
I finally realized the missing ingredient was fresh lime juice! It really does make all the difference with the taste. And, also tons of fresh ginger
How To Make This Easy Thai Peanut Sauce
This recipe seriously couldn’t be much easier! All you need to do is add all the ingredients to a bowl and whisk until combined. Here are a few tips I have to make it the very best homemade peanut sauce:
- Peanut butter must be at room temperature. I tried making it with refrigerated peanut butter, and it was a big mess that wouldn’t mix together.
- This peanut sauce recipe contains fresh grated ginger and garlic, so it’s not silky smooth. However, if that bothers you, you can always blend it for a few seconds.
- Add all ingredients to a medium-sized bowl and mix until combined and creamy.
Homemade Peanut Sauce Recipe Ingredients
- Peanut butter – I like to use natural peanut butter made only from peanuts, with no added sugar or salt. If you are using one with added sugar and salt, you might want to leave out the maple syrup and salt from the recipe. You can just taste it and see if it needs them.
- Fresh garlic and ginger – Fresh garlic and ginger are so important for this recipe! You will lose so much of the taste if you use powdered spices here. I grate mine using a zester so I don’t get too big of chunks in the sauce.
- Fresh lime juice – You want to buy a lime and juice it yourself. The lime juice you can buy at the store in the little bottle that looks like a lime doesn’t taste the same.
- Sriracha – I didn’t add any to my sauce because I really don’t like spicy sauces, but if you love spice, you can add as much as you like.
How To Use This Homemade Peanut Sauce
The possibilities are endless! Here are a few ways that I’ve used it:
- Salad dressing (It’s perfect on these Thai Peanut Noodle Bowls!)
- Stir fry sauce – I recommend drizzling it onto your stir fry just before eating.
- Dipping sauce – I love to dip baked tofu or veggies into this peanut sauce.
- Pasta sauce – I’ve used it in a pasta salad before, and it was great!
- Pizza sauce – I used it on these Thai Veggie Pizzas, and it worked perfectly!
I hope you all enjoy this Homemade Peanut Sauce as much as I do! I’d love to hear what you think if you give it a try If you have a question, ask me in the comments!
