Did you know that it is citrus season right now?! For some reason it seems kinda out of place to me since I seem to crave citrus-y things much more in the summertime when it’s really hot outside. But, hey, I’ll take it!
I guess I should have been cued up to the fact that it is citrus season by the hundreds of orange trees in full bloom that I pass every morning on my way to work. Some of them are in such random places too, like in front of apartment buildings or randomly growing up in roadway medians, and I’m always so sad to see most of the delicious fruit go to waste. I’m thinking I might need to start helping them out a little bit!
Besides these Homemade Cool Ranch Doritos, Hint of Lime Chips have always been my favorite. Who am I kidding, I love anything that is crunchy and salty! But seriously, the best thing about hint of lime tortilla chips are that they aren’t just crunchy and salty, they are also really refreshing with the added lime flavor.
Now, I’m not sure what the exact ingredients are in the lime flavored chips you can buy at the store, but I can tell you that there are only 4 ingredients in these chips! Sometimes, the less ingredients the better. And these are also super easy to make. All you need is about 3 minutes of prep and 12 minutes in the oven and then if you are anything like me, 30 seconds to inhale them all š
PrintHint of Lime Baked Tortilla Chips
- Total Time: 17 minutes
- Yield: 4 cups 1x
Ingredients
- 15–20 corn tortillas
- 5 teaspoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- salt
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil and lime juice.
- Brush each side of the tortilla with a generous amount of lime juice mixture and sprinkle desired amount of salt onto one side of the tortilla. Stack tortillas up and cut into 8 equal triangles. Place tortilla slices on a large sheet pan, making sure they aren’t overlapping. Bake chips for 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven, flip tortilla slices over and let sit 5 minutes. They will crisp up nicely as they cool.
- Depending on how many you make you will need to cook chips in batches.

I made these a week ago and they were so delicious. They go really well with dill dip. I always put a little bit of lime juice in my dill dip.
Thank you for a great recipe!

This recipe was soooo good and super easy to follow!!!
I had already pre cut my tortillas but I just put them in the a bowl with the juice/oil mixture and then laid them on the baking sheet.
I would just suggest to add a bit of extra lime juice and add some lime zest in too! Really delicious!

I had no idea that it was citrus season! I think of it as more of a summer thing, too. These tortilla chips look fantastic, Izzy! Love the lime in here. Sounds so much better than the store-bought kind. My husband and I would totally devour these!
Traci | Vanilla And Bean says
It’s hard to see all that fruit go to waste.. but someone has to pick it all, right? Can you do any free picking? We do that here with wild blackberries, sometimes blueberries and apples. In the fall, apples are like your citrus around here. It is hard to see it all go to waste. Good thing the deer and birds come to eat some of the rotting fruit. Too bad Cheeto won’t take to citrus!
My mouth is watering for these… mind you it’s 5:30 am. I need to make these Izzy! And they’re so simple! Thank you, Izzy!

Hi Izzy! I would not be surprised if my husband and myself spent $500 a year of Hint of Lime chips at the store. We go through bags and bags every week it seems! They just satisfy. I love how they’re are only 4 ingredients in these and I know exactly what those ingredients are. No fake, phony stuff. You need chips for so many occasions, Taco night, company coming over, avocado dip, whatever! Thanks for sharing.

Well, it’s official…I am never spending extra money on those Hint of Lime chips again…not now that I can make my own!
