Fish Taco Sauce Recipe Ingredients
- Sour Cream – I use regular sour cream for this recipe. You can substitute plain, non-fat Greek yogurt if you like. You can also use a vegan sour cream. I don’t have one, but my friend Ashley has a great one!
- Mayonnaise – This is not a vegan recipe, but I don’t really love the taste of regular mayonnaise, so I prefer to use vegan mayo in my sauce. You can use whatever kind of mayo you prefer.
- Lime Juice – I like to use fresh lime juice in this recipe. If you want an even stronger lime flavor, add some lime zest.
- Hot Sauce – I love using Valentina’s Hot Saucem, but sriracha also works. Feel free to add as much hot sauce as you like to the fish taco sauce.
- Spices – I season the sauce with cumin, garlic powder, paprika, and smoked paprika. You can adjust the seasonings to your taste.
- Salt – Add salt to taste.

A creamy hot sauce. I love this idea. As a vegan I’m thinking that using a block of tofu perhaps with some aquafaba in place of the sour cream and mayo may be an idea.

Hi Jane! I think this sauce can easily be made vegan! Either that or a cashew based homemade vegan sour cream would work great!
