Description
My Homemade Crispy Roasted Edamame is packed with flavor and really easy to make. This edamame is full of protein and fiber, making it a great snack to help you get through the afternoon. I enjoy eating it by itself, but it can also be used as a crispy topping for rice or noodles. You only need a few ingredients to make this delicious, healthy snack!
Ingredients
- 1 (12 oz) bag shelled edamame, thawed (about 2 cups)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon tamari, or soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Heat oven to 425 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper, optional. Thaw edamame, if frozen.
- I like to give the edamame a gentle rinse in a colander and then I pour it onto a clean, dry kitchen towel. Carefully pat the edamame until it’s mostly dry.
- Add the oil, tamari, garlic, salt and toasted sesame oil. Use your hands to toss everything together until the edamame is completely coated.
- Place in the oven and roast until edamame is crispy and starting to brown a little bit, about 20 minutes. You’ll want to stir, or shake, the pan half way through to make sure that the edamame gets roasted evenly.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes and enjoy! Store leftover edamame in an air-tight container either at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
Notes
If you want your edamame spicy, you can add some roasted red pepper flakes or about 1 teaspoon of chili paste.
This recipe can easily be doubled, if needed.
