This really is The Best Easy Guacamole Recipe! You only need five ingredients, and it’s so flavorful—it lets the avocado shine! Use it as a dip or add it to salads and sandwiches.
I once read a post by another blogger that said you should never add fillers like tomatoes or onions to your guacamole. At the time, it really annoyed me, and I may have even stopped reading her blog after that, haha. She was a little pushy about it, and I love adding veggies to my guacamole!
I have Fajita and Loaded Guacamole recipes on here that I love, but I think it’s also important to have a simple guacamole recipe in your back pocket.
When you have a delicious and simple guacamole recipe, you can just let the avocado shine. You only need some good ripe avocados, a little acidity, and some spices. I garnished mine with some fresh cilantro because I can’t take a photo without some kind of garnish on top, haha. 🙂
The Best Guacamole Recipe Ingredients
- Avocado – The trick to the best guacamole recipe is finding the perfect avocados! I don’t know about you, but I get so annoyed when I go to the store to buy avocados and can’t find one that is perfectly ripe. They’re either rock hard or so overripe that they’re not firm. I like to find an avocado with a small amount of give when you press it but is still mostly firm. The worst thing is opening that avocado and seeing lots of brown spots.
- Lime – I find fresh lime juice is a must.
- Ground cumin
- Garlic – I used one large clove of garlic, minced or grated.
- Salt – To taste.
- Cilantro – For garnish, if desired.
How To Make The Best Easy Guacamole
- Cut avocados in half, remove the pit and fruit from the skin, and dice. Add the diced avocado to a large bowl and mash until the desired consistency is reached.
- Add all remaining ingredients and mix until combined. Enjoy with chips or anything else you like to eat guacamole with!
I love dipping chips into guacamole, but there are many other ways to enjoy it:
- Burrito Bowls
- Tacos
- Salads
- Wraps
- Sandwiches
- Pasta
- Buddha Bowls
