This really is the BEST Cheezy Roasted Broccoli with Garlic! It’s perfect for an easy vegetable side dish or a healthy snack.
You guys, this roasted broccoli will change your life! Okay, that may be an overstatement, but it really is the best “cheesy” roasted broccoli with garlic. I can eat an entire pan of it because it’s so good.
I’ve always been a fan of roasted broccoli, but adding some nutritional yeast (the cheezy part) and granulated garlic takes it to the next level. 🙂 So, I devised a roasted broccoli recipe that’s totally holiday-worthy. You’ll probably like it so much that you’ll be making it all winter long! At least, that is what I will be doing.
I’m pretty sure I’ll be adding both of those ingredients to all vegetables I roast from now on. I usually roast Brussels sprouts for the holidays, but they can be expensive (once, I accidentally spent about $10 on a couple of pounds), and you can’t always find them a few days before the holiday.
Cheezy Roasted Broccoli Recipe Ingredients
- Broccoli – I love broccoli; it is such a versatile vegetable. You can eat it raw with dip, steam it and add it to pasta, or roast it and eat it as a side dish. There are so many delicious options, but roasting is definitely my favorite way to enjoy broccoli.
- Olive oil
- Nutritional yeast – This is the magic ingredient that gives this vegan broccoli that nice cheesy taste!
- Spices – I used granulated garlic, salt, and black pepper.
- Lemon wedges – These are optional but go great with roasted broccoli.
How To Make Cheezy Roasted Broccoli
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Toss all the ingredients together on a large sheet pan until the broccoli florets are evenly coated. Roast the broccoli until tender and caramelized, 20-25 minutes. It is best when served immediately. Squeeze with lemon wedges if desired!
Vegan Roasted Broccoli with Garlic Recipe Tips
- Feel free to use whatever kind of oil you prefer; you don’t have to use olive oil.
- You can also reduce the amount of oil if you don’t want to use as much. I just like making sure mine are evenly coated with olive oil so they get nice and caramelized.
- Nutritional yeast is a must for this recipe if you want that nice cheesy taste!
- You can easily cut down or multiply this recipe if cooking for more or fewer people.

when you say “roast” do you actually mean just bake? Thanks!
technically speaking, roasting is when the oven temp is 400 or higher and baking is usually when the oven temp is just around 375 or lower
Works great with cauliflower, too! So yummy.
Great idea!!
What aisle would “nutritional yeast” be found in?
Hi Susan, it depends on what grocery store but sometimes I can find it in the spice aisle. If you have a grocery store that has a bulk section you can find it there too.
So the title says “cheezy”. Where’s the cheese?
CheeZy, as in not actual cheese. The nutritional yeast acts as the cheese flavor
Very nice roasted broccoli. I could eat roasted broccoli every day, and sometimes have it by itself for lunch. Lemon on top is lovely too. Thanks for this recipe!
Awesome! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
We did this with a few extra veggies – carrots and bell peppers added in and it was delicious!
Yum!! I might have to do that this week 🙂
