These Apple Cranberry Kombucha Mimosas are full of holiday flavors, and the kombucha adds a delicious extra kick. They’re great for Christmas or New Year’s brunch!
Now that Thanksgiving is over, the main focus can be on Christmas! Christmas recipes are usually a bit more elegant than Thanksgiving, and with elegance comes mimosas! I love traditional orange juice mimosa, but adding flavored kombucha really takes them to the next level. I think you’ll love these Apple Cranberry Kombucha Mimosas.
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I don’t post many cocktail recipes. My go-to drink is a glass of crisp white wine, but when it comes to fancy-looking holiday drinks, mimosas are a must! Today, I’m adding some tart kombucha flavors to the traditional mimosa recipe!
Apple and Cranberry Kombucha Mimosa Recipe Ingredients
- Champagne – Traditional mimosas are made with champagne. As you can see from the photo above, I used prosecco instead. The main difference between champagne and prosecco is the region in which they’re made. Both are nice and bubbly, and either will work!
- Cranberry Flavored Kombucha – You don’t have to use the same brand of kombucha as me. You should be able to find cranberry- and apple-flavored kombucha at most stores. You can also substitute pomegranate.
- Apple Flavored Kombucha – I love the apple-flavored kombucha because it reminds me of fall, and the flavor goes so well with cranberry!
- Optional Mimosa Garnishes – I use some fresh thyme leaves because they’re festive-looking, and they were all I had on hand. You can also garnish with fresh cranberries, apple slices, fresh rosemary or mint, or pomegranate seeds.
How To Make The Best Holiday Mimosas
I didn’t add any measurements to the recipe below because I feel like most people eyeball mimosa ingredients. But here is how I make mine!
*Mimosas taste best when all ingredients have been chilled beforehand.
- Start by filling your glass about half full of champagne. As you can see, I did not use traditional champagne glasses, but anything will work!
- Next, fill the remaining half of the glass with an equal amount of apple and cranberry kombucha. If you prefer one flavor to the other, you can always use more of that one.
- Make your mimosa special by adding some festive garnishes: fresh thyme, rosemary or mint leaves, fresh cranberries or pomegranate seeds, apple slices, etc.
Mimosa Recipe Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between champagne and prosecco? The main difference is the region in which they’re made. You can only call something champagne if it was made in the region of Champagne, France. Prosecco is primarily made in the Veneto region of Italy.
- How strong should I make my mimosas? That is completely up to you and the people you’re making them for! I prefer to go a little heavier on the champagne, but you can instead add just a splash.
- Should I put ice in my mimosa? It’s best when all ingredients are chilled before making your mimosas so you don’t have to use ice, but if you want yours extra cold, you can definitely put some ice in!
- Can I make a pitcher full of these mimosas? Of course! Start by adding the entire bottle of champagne to a pitcher, and then add the kombucha to taste.
