When it comes to football season there are two categories that people fall into; the ones who live for football and love the snacks and those who kinda can’t stand football but love the snacks. I’m currently in the second category, but have been desperately trying to get myself into the first category since I met my football obsessed husband.
So far I haven’t succeeded though. Sometimes I find myself staring at the T.V in hopes that something will make sense and I’ll finally realize how much I love football, but usually I’m in the other room eating all the snacks while watching Modern Family on Hulu. At least I try, right?
Being a snackaholic, I do have something to offer football season and I think it is much appreciated. In the past I have slaved away in the kitchen making homemade mozzerella sticks and deep frying mini corn dogs (this was way before I changed my eating habits). But, these days I’m trying to understand the game a bit more and at least pretend like I’m watching, so I’m all about the quick football snacks. All you need for this Creamy Black Bean & Avocado Dip is a food processor and 5 minutes. Tortilla chips are a favorite of mine, but it can also be enjoyed with crackers or veggies.

Hehe! I do actually enjoy watching football, but I’m always glad when I can entice my anti-football friends to hang out with me by making them delicious snacks!! This dip sounds so good and I love that it’s pretty healthy! Definitely a snack to feel good about. š
I’m trying to get where I like it more too, but it is hard when I can’t watch the Emmys because my husband is watching football, haha!
I completely understand how you feel, Izzy! I like watching certain games (mainly Texas A&M b/c it’s our team) but my husband likes to watch ALL of them . That’s when I whip out the old laptop, lol! š
But the food always excites me, especially when it’s dips like this that pair so well with tortilla chips. My favorite kind of football food!!
Neither my high school or college had football teams so maybe that is why I never warmed up to it! I’m always whipping out the laptop too, haha! At least there is the food š
I’m a snack girl too when it comes to football. You’d find me right next to this dip, Izzy!
At least there is one upside to football!
I’m definitely in the snack loving category too, that’s what football is all about for me. This dip looks so creamy and delicious!
Me too, Danielle! Thank you š
I’m so lucky I love sports since my husband is and we had two boys as well! I love the food just as much, and this dip would be just perfect for Game Day! š
Maybe I need to have a son so I will finally get into it, haha! At least it is a good excuse for snacking until then though š
I like football but I can only watch so much before I hit my breaking point!! haha My husband can watch it all day!
But this dip sounds amazing! I feel like I would be happier watching it if I had this in front of me!
I can only watch so much too! Then it all just sounds and looks the same to me and I have to get away! I was definitely happier while I was shoveling this dip into my mouth š
I could eat this whole thing of dip for dinner and be a very happy girl : )
I totally did that, Natalie!
This dip looks so creamy and savory š
Thanks Medha!
I’m right there with ya, in the same camp, Izzy! High fives for no football camp! Rob doesn’t watch it either except for the Superbowl. So I watch too, usually because I just can’t peel myself away from the half time show and goofy commercials. Being in the non football camp, I am like the rest; I love all the food! Yes, bring on the snackin food! Dips, chips, and more dips! And this dip sounds fabulous, Izzy! I’ve never thought to pair avo with black beans in this manner, but I love it!
How did you get so lucky to get a man who doesn’t watch football?! Eric lives for it š The Superbowl is the one game that I do kind of enjoy because there is extra eating and interesting commercials! I guess if I have to watch the games I might as well have all the good snacks!
I’m definitely on the snacking end of the whole football thing. I enjoy getting together with people who love football and watching them watch football, ha! This dip is perfection. That is all. š
Same here, Julia! It is fun when there is a lot of people and more chatting and snacking than actual football watching! Thank you! š
I would totally endure a game of ho-hum football if it meant that I could dig into this dip! I mean, you TOTALLY hit all the crucial app marks in this winner of a dip! Love that it’s so dang easy to whip up!
That’s what I’m sayin, Sarah! Haha, thank you! It is one of my new favorites š
My husband is obsessed with football too (and every other sport)! But I definitely just can’t get into football, but I can get into all of the delicious snacks! Love this five minute dip, Izzy! Sounds delicious!
It is hard for me too! I will watch basketball for hours, but I guess I just don’t understand football! Thanks Gayle š
I love that you’ve combined two of my favorite ingredients here Izzy: black beans and avocados. This is the perfect hearty snack, whether it’s football season or not!
They are two of my favorite too, Katie! I’m glad we are on the same page š
